About Us

Heather Borg Martin

Hello! I'm Heather, owner of Rising Tide Pottery.

An artist for most of my life, I spent my early career in corporate communications working in the radio and media intelligence community in Boston and New York. Once I relocated back to MA in 2008, I began my focus on art and teaching, which led me to open my first arts-based business The Pour Artist in 2013In 2017 I began my study of ceramics as part of my Master's program, with an intense focus and interest on abstraction and texture, especially what is found in nature along our local coastlines and harbors.

For the last 11 years through The Pour Artist I enjoyed working on a diverse range of arts-based projects and events with companies including Proctor & Gamble/Gillette, NASA, Uber, Verizon, Northeastern University, and many others. I can't wait to see where our journey brings us with Rising Tide Pottery.

I have a BA in Visual/Media Arts from Emerson, followed by a Post-Bac in art-ed in 2012. I completed my Master's of Art Education from UMass Dartmouth in 2022.

Sarah Frade

Hi! I’m Sarah, an emerging potter with a love for science. I have a Master’s of Science in Biochemistry from UMass Dartmouth, where I currently work in the Medical Laboratory Science Department. My ceramics passion is in carving and sgraffito – a pottery decorating technique that means “to scratch” where contrasting layers of slip are scratched through to reveal lower layers of color. I enjoy creating a variety of wheel-thrown forms then morphing them into something totally different through these decorative techniques at the leather-hard stage. I utilize my analytical background to highlight the fine details of my ceramic work.

Jynel Da Rosa

Hello! I’m Jynel, a veterinary professional by day and a pottery enthusiast by night. With three adorable dogs in tow, I’m always surrounded by love and chaos. Pottery is my ultimate relaxation, allowing me to disconnect from the world and focus on the calming rhythm of shaping and molding. I spend most of my time in pottery throwing at the wheel creating flowing forms and letting the clay guide me. It’s a creative escape that grounds me, just like painting, and offers a peaceful balance to my busy days.

Aly Camara

As a Cape Cod Potter and slow-beauty enthusiast, I explore sustainability through my pottery practice, infusing each piece with the healing energy of Reiki to elevate your intentions. My journey began as a Gallery Assistant at Jobi Pottery, and flourished under the guidance of artist and educator, Amy Kandall, leading me to further wheel-throwing studies at UMass Amherst. To me, embracing slow beauty means investing in quality craftsmanship, that enhances daily rituals and routines - because each step in our lives deserves purpose.
